What begins where the subway ends?

The End of the Line is a visual storytelling project exploring the people and communities at the edges of Boston’s subway system.

At Forest Hills, Ashmont, and Oak Grove, the train reaches its final stop, but many commuters keep going—transferring to buses that carry them farther from the city’s rapid transit network.

Through photography, conversations, sound, archival material, and research, I’ll explore who lives beyond the last stop, who relies on these connections, why the subway ends where it does, and how past decisions about transit, housing, and development continue to shape access to the city today.
